According to the rescue service, there is a fire in an area that is around 100 times 200 meters in size – and there is a risk of explosion.
There may be old ammunition from the Defence Forces in the area, as the field has been used as a training area, says Mattias Häglund, press spokesperson for the rescue service.
At 6 pm on Thursday evening, the fire is expected to be under control.
But we have an ongoing extinguishing effort and no prognosis for when it will be completed, we will probably be there for a few hours ahead, says Häglund.
The police are also present at the scene.
We are there to assist the rescue service with cordons and try to ensure that people do not enter this area, says the police's press spokesperson Anna Westberg.
No people are reported to have been injured in connection with the fire.
