Those who enjoy the prevailing heat have the weekend to look forward to – more or less the whole of Sweden can count on sunny and warm weather during the weekend, with temperatures of 25–30 degrees.
The theme for the weekend is that it is still warm. The high pressure that has been over northern Sweden is moving south over the weekend, says Henrik Reimer.
Despite the high pressure, there is still a risk of local rain showers in some areas.
When the high pressure moves down, there may be showers in western Norrland during Friday afternoon. There is also a risk of rain showers in southern Götaland. But the rain seems to be mainly concentrated in these areas, overall it looks like it will be sunny throughout the country during the weekend.
33 degrees
Norrland – which in recent days has been characterized by high temperatures – seems to get the warmest even during the weekend.
In northern Norrland, the temperature can rise to 33 degrees.
The warm air is expected to remain over the country until the beginning of next week – but it's not time to get used to high summer heat and sun.
It's a bit uncertain when the change occurs, but towards the middle of next week it looks like it will be unstable with clouds and rain, which also lowers the temperature.
Yellow warning
The temperature is expected to be around 20–25 degrees throughout the country, but can also drop to around 17 degrees.
It depends on how intense and widespread this rain becomes.
SMHI has issued a yellow warning for the weekend for high temperatures in northeastern Västerbotten and parts of eastern Norrbotten. The heat warning also applies to the inner parts of Västerbotten, Jämtland, and Västernorrland.
