The Hisings Bridge in Gothenburg has been lowered again since the bridge got stuck in an open position on Wednesday evening, reports Gothenburg Post.
The fault occurred at around 18:30 in connection with a bridge section getting stuck while opening, according to the Swedish Transport Administration. All road and sea traffic had to be stopped, and not even trams could cross the bridge.
After hours of troubleshooting, the bridge could slowly be lowered again during the night. Just before 5 am, the bridge manager announced that they would soon be able to open the bridge to traffic, writes GP.
Public transportation is expected to be delayed after the stop, according to Västtrafik, as reported by the newspaper.
