Producer prices in the USA rose by 2.6 percent in June compared to revised 2.4 percent for the same month last year, according to a report from the US Department of Labor.
It was slightly higher than expected. The average forecast was 2.3 percent, according to a compilation made by the news agency Bloomberg.
Compared to May this year, producer prices in June increased by 0.2 percent. Expectations were for a 0.1 percent price increase.
Adjusted for food and energy prices, producer prices in June rose by 3.0 percent year-on-year. It was more than the expected 2.5 percent.
