According to Israel's military (IDF), around 30 rockets were fired from Lebanon towards communities in northern Israel, one of which hit Beit Hillel, reports Haaretz. No one is reported to have been injured, according to IDF.
According to Hezbollah, the attack was a response to Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon earlier on Saturday, writes AFP.
Israel and Hezbollah have almost daily exchanged fire across the border since the Gaza War began after Hamas's terrorist attack on Israel in October last year.
Tensions in the region have increased this week, since Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Iran just hours after Hezbollah's chief of staff Fuad Shukr was killed in an Israeli attack in Lebanon.
The Iranian regime and its allies, including terrorist-listed Hamas and Hezbollah, have vowed revenge. Israel, on the other hand, has warned its enemies that they will pay a "very high price" for every "aggression".
