Do Young Kim, who prior to the Scania job is CFO at truck manufacturer International (formerly Navistar). He steps in at Scania after the company – part of the Volkswagen-dominated Traton sphere – last week entered into a so-called DIP loan with Northvolt worth 1.1 billion kronor ahead of the crisis-stricken battery manufacturer's planned reconstruction, under bankruptcy protection in the USA.
Scania purchases battery cells for its electric trucks from Northvolt and VW is, prior to the reconstruction, Northvolt's largest owner.
Do Young Kim has previously been CFO for several joint venture companies within the automotive industry and was responsible, among other things, for the preparations and implementation of Traton's stock exchange listing.
He replaces Jonas Rickberg, who is leaving Scania to become CFO at construction company Skanska.
