According to lawyer Arthur Aidala, the sexually convicted Weinstein suffers from multiple health problems and has had chest pains for a longer period, among other things.

Four years ago, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault, a sentence he is serving on Rikers Island in New York. In April this year, the New York Supreme Court overturned the verdict due to errors during the trial.

Several legal proceedings are still ongoing, including Weinstein being called to court later this week, where preparations will begin for a retrial.

He has also been sentenced to 16 years in prison in a Los Angeles court, while several new allegations of previous assaults have been made against him.

During the proceedings, the 72-year-old Weinstein has needed to use a walker to get to the courtroom and was pushed in a wheelchair in May this year. He was last hospitalized in April, where he underwent a series of examinations.
