Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton suffers from mental illness. He tells this in an interview with Sunday Times. I have struggled with my mental health throughout my entire life, he says.

Hamilton tells that he was bullied at a young age and at the same time also felt pressure within sports.

When I was in my 20s, I had a few really tough periods. I have struggled with my mental health throughout my entire life. I have had depression from a very early age, like when I was 13 years old.

He continues:

I had no one to talk to.

On the question of whether he has seen a psychologist, he says:

I talked to a woman several years ago. But it didn't really help me. I would like to find someone to talk to someday.

The 39-year-old Hamilton is one of the all-time greatest Formula 1 drivers. He has won seven World Championship titles, the most ever, together with Michael Schumacher.
