Israel's military has published a
of what is claimed to be Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar's last moment alive. It appears to be recorded by a drone, which enters through a blown-out window several floors up in a destroyed building and then moves through the completely devastated apartment, up to the dusty armchairs and the masked man. When the man discovers the drone, he appears to throw a piece of wood at the attacker, before the film abruptly ends. The video, which is said to have been recorded in Tel Sultan in Rafah in southern Gaza, has been published by media around the world. It was made public after Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that Sinwar had been killed late on Thursday.
The 61-year-old Sinwar is believed to have been the architect behind Hamas's large-scale terrorist attacks on Israel last year, which triggered the ongoing Gaza war.
