"The Neighborhood Feud" is director Ulf Malmros' first film since 2016. The film is about a quarrel between a former prime minister and the stubborn Harry Flodman.
The quarrel concerns a stinking outhouse and the story is inspired by real events.
The idea for the film I got from Göran Persson's neighborhood feud in Sörmland. It became a prolonged story about an outhouse. It felt like a story, a prime minister moves out to the countryside after his career and gets into a feud with his neighbor, it all felt too good to be true, says Malmros to NWT.
It is the first time Malmros is working with Robert Gustafsson, while Kjell Bergqvist has played in several of the director's previous films. Several of the other well-known actors are familiar from previous Malmros films, such as Tuva Novotny, Ida Hallquist and the "Smala Sussie" duo Björn Ling and Johan Östling.
"The Neighborhood Feud" takes place in Värmland, is Ulf Malmros' first film in nine years and is expected to have its premiere in the fall.
