The process around the Norrbotniabanan has been prolonged. But now the railway section gets the green light for construction start.
It's very close at hand. They are very ready to start building, says Infrastructure and Housing Minister Andreas Carlson at a press conference.
At the same time, several other major projects get the green light.
It involves, among other things, the E22 past Söderköping and a covering of part of the E45 in Gothenburg.
These are investments that total 22 billion kronor in 2021 price level. I want to highlight the goods route through Bergslagen, for example, says Andreas Carlson.
A investment in the Malmbanan is also included.
An increase in capacity on that railway is a prerequisite for more transports to be able to be carried out, says Climate and Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari.
We are bringing forward investments that enable increased capacity and higher reliability along the Malmbanan.
Besides the twelve projects, the Swedish Transport Administration can now prepare for construction start for a handful of additional projects. At the same time, the agency gets a setback for, among other things, a cross-connection on Södertörn and a bypass track in Katrineholm.
It's about cost increases, among other things, says Andreas Carlson.
