A boy who played in the Gothia Cup is critically injured after a near-drowning incident at a swimming pool in Alingsås on Friday.
The boy is in his late teens and played for a foreign team in the large youth tournament.
The boy's condition was initially described as serious. Now the assessment has changed. The boy's condition is life-threatening, according to Sahlgrenska University Hospital to TT.
It is unclear how the accident at the swimming pool occurred.
Last summer, a 15-year-old boy drowned in the same swimming pool. He also played for a foreign team in the Gothia Cup.
