A person has been detained after a man was shot with several shots in Vårby in Huddinge south of Stockholm on Friday evening.

The police are silent about the detainee and the arrest.

It's a man, but otherwise, I have nothing more to say about the person out of consideration for the investigation, says Anna Westberg, press spokesperson for the police, on Saturday morning.

The alarm came at 22.10 on Friday evening.

We have found a man who has been shot, hit by several shots, we have also found a suspected crime scene and it's not quite the same place where we found the shot person, but he has somehow gotten somewhere, said press spokesperson Ola Österling, on Friday evening.

The man, who is in his 25s, was taken to hospital. He is considered to be seriously but not life-threateningly injured, according to the police.

One or more people were seen leaving the scene and a comprehensive police operation was underway during the night. The police do not want to comment on whether it is about a suspected settlement between criminal networks.

It is included in our work to investigate links to previous violent crimes and in what context the violent crime occurs. We are doing that now as well, but it's too early to say if there is any connection to any ongoing conflict, says Anna Westberg.

The incident is classified as attempted murder and serious weapons offense.
