At the same time, the company warns that it will have difficulty reaching its financial goals since the sales of the Swedish-developed "Star Wars Outlaws" have not met expectations – despite fine reviews from both reviewers and users.

Ubisoft's stock price plummeted to its lowest level in nearly ten years shortly after the game was released at the end of August, reports gaming site IGN.

"Assassin's Creed Shadows" will be released on February 14 next year.

"Content-wise, the game is complete, but the lessons learned from the "Star Wars Outlaws" release have given us more time to "polish and refine the gaming experience and improve some key features", announces Ubisoft.

"Star Wars Outlaws", the first "Star Wars" game set in an open world, is the result of a more than four-year-long collaboration between eleven game studios worldwide. Malmö-based game developer Massive has been responsible for steering the giant project to completion.
