Construction giant Skanska continues to flag a weak housing market in the Nordic countries and Sweden. In connection with the quarterly report for the second quarter, they hold on to continued challenges in housing development.
"In the Nordic countries, macroeconomic uncertainty and low consumer confidence have dampened the Nordic housing markets despite a lower interest rate environment. The recovery is expected to take time", the company writes in the interim report.
When it comes to the construction business, they see at the same time bright spots linked to increased investment in, among other things, defense, energy and water purification plants.
"We expect the Swedish construction market to gradually become stronger", Skanska writes.
For the second quarter, the operating profit landed at 1.81 billion Swedish kronor, slightly better than market expectations, while revenues were in line with the forecast.
