Minister for Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed (KD) believes that children under 13 years of age should not have access to so-called smartphones. This is to avoid them using social media via apps.
The statement from the minister was made in an interview with TV4's Morning News.
No children should have these apps if you're under 13 years old, and then it's naturally safest if you don't even have a smartphone, says Forssmed.
The issue has been highlighted since Australia voted through a law where young people under 16 years of age are prohibited from using social network apps.
The Minister for Social Affairs says to TV4 that tech giants must simultaneously take their responsibility in young people's use of social media platforms.
