The former gang leader smuggled in five kilos of cocaine into Sweden for a criminal network. He stored, transported, and handed over the drugs further.
Now, the 41-year-old is sentenced to six and a half years in prison for aggravated drug smuggling.
The man had previously held a leading position in the former criminal network M-falangen, which for many years was in a bloody conflict with K-falangen in Malmö.
The 41-year-old left Sweden in 2015 and was arrested outside Barcelona in Spain in December last year when he became internationally wanted. He was then brought back to Sweden. The police tracked him down by managing to crack his alias in the encrypted app Encrochat. The 41-year-old was charged along with a 29-year-old man for handling large quantities of drugs in Sweden during 2020. The 41-year-old is convicted by Malmö District Court for extremely aggravated drug smuggling, and the 29-year-old man is sentenced to two years and three months in prison for drug offenses.
The 41-year-old, who is not a Swedish citizen, is deported and is not allowed to return before 2039.
