Gustav Hemming is not detained.
"The investigation is proceeding with usual preliminary investigation measures such as interviews with witnesses. Due to the prevailing secrecy of the preliminary investigation, I cannot provide any further information at present. It is also not possible to give a prognosis for when the investigation can be expected to be completed", says senior prosecutor Rebecca Rehnström in a press release.
The suspicion of crime concerns an incident that occurred in Stockholm's public transportation on August 23 last year.
Hemming was previously the leader of the Center Party in Region Stockholm and vice chairman of the regional board. He resigned from his assignments in early December after the party had been informed of the suspicions of crime and contacted the police.
