Lise Klaveness is the only candidate for the female quota position (one of two) that is vacant. Therefore, the election at the Uefa congress in Zagreb on April 3 will only be a formality.
For an ordinary Uefa member, the compensation amounts to approximately 1.8 million kronor (160,000 euro) per year. For her job as chair of the Norwegian Football Association, Klaveness receives an annual salary of 1.6 million kronor, according to Norwegian media.
Donates 35 percent
Right now, my wife is on parental leave, so for the time being, it's my double salary that becomes our household income, she says to the news agency NTB.
Klaveness states, however, that she will already from the start donate 20 percent of her Uefa compensation to charitable purposes. The amount will increase to 35 percent on the day her wife – the former football player Ingrid Camilla Fosse Sæthre – returns to work. The couple has three children together.
She has chosen to do so herself, because she thinks it's hopeless when I travel so much. But when she starts working again, which she must do at some point, I will make sure to donate part of my compensation to charitable purposes, says Klaveness.
Nilsson's annual salary: 2.7 million kronor
When a total of ten members are to be elected to the Uefa board, Sweden will no longer have a representative in the powerful body. In connection with the spring congress, the mandate will expire for Karl-Erik Nilsson, who was chairman of the Swedish Football Association from 2012 to 2023.
During all eight years on the board, Nilsson has also been vice-president, and since 2017, that position has given the Swede approximately 2.7 million kronor per year (250,000 euro).
