Foo Fighters cancel their performance at Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut this weekend, reports Rolling Stone. The show would have been the band's first appearance since frontman Dave Grohl announced that he had become a father to a girl – outside of marriage.

"Foo Fighters will no longer appear at this weekend's Soundside Music Festival", the band writes on

on Thursday.

"Check the festival's website for more information."

No explanation for the late cancellation was given, but according to the festival organizers, it was "a band decision". Shortly after, the festival writes on social media: "Unfortunately, Foo Fighters have announced that they will no longer perform this weekend".

Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl started Foo Fighters in 1995. None of his bandmates have publicly commented on the infidelity affair so far.

The band last performed together in August.
