A roadside bomb targeting police in Pakistan has killed nine people, including five children, the police report.
The police officers who were the target of the attack in the city of Mastung were deployed to protect polio vaccinators. The children are said to have been in the vicinity when the bomb exploded. Nearly 20 people were injured.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemns the act and promises to continue fighting groups demanding self-rule.
A rebellion has been ongoing for a long time in the province of Balochistan, where a number of separatist groups are staging attacks, primarily against security forces.
