Kiruna Airport is closed since a fault was discovered on the runway. The airport will remain closed for the rest of Sunday, reports NSD.
A flight en route from Stockholm on Sunday morning had to land in Luleå instead.
Maintenance work was carried out during the night. When it was inspected on Sunday morning, it was discovered that it was not in good enough condition for the flight to land, says Fredrik Elg of Swedavia's press office to Aftonbladet.
The closure of the airport during the day affects two departures and two arrivals to and from Stockholm.
