The incident has been reported to the Health and Social Care Inspectorate (Ivo) under the Lex Maria legislation.
It was at the end of September last year that two employees within the home care service were to help the elderly person out of a shower chair, but lost their grip, which led to the person falling and hitting their knees on the floor.
It caused "excruciating pain" according to the user, who was moved to their bed. A nurse was contacted.
Later, it turned out that the fall had caused fractures in both legs. According to the report to Ivo, the assessment and treatment of the injury were delayed.
The quality of life has deteriorated significantly for the affected person, and it is unclear whether the person can continue to live in their previous home.
