The man who was arrested on suspicion of arson and murder after a woman died in an apartment fire in Linköping has now been released on bail.
The suspicions remain against the man but have been weakened. The prosecutor has therefore chosen to decide to lift the arrest, according to a press release from the prosecution authority.
It was on Friday that the man, who is in his 65-year-old age, was arrested on probable cause suspected of murder and arson after a comprehensive fire in an apartment in Linköping the day before.
A woman in the age of 55–60 years was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, and on Friday morning, the police announced that she had died.
”The man and the woman were acquainted with each other and it is thus a matter of an isolated incident”, said prosecutor Linda Kyrö in a press release in connection with the man's arrest.
