A 65-year-old man died on Friday afternoon in Vansbro, the police report. The man was driving a car that ended up on the railway track and collided with a train.
It's an unguarded crossing without barriers, says Gabriel Henning, press spokesperson for the Bergslagen police region.
The rescue service's incident commander tells Expressen that it was an empty timber train that collided with the car.
The deceased man's relatives have been informed.
