The actor Drake Hogestyn is dead, according to a statement from the family, reports CNN.
Drake Hogestyn is best known for his role as John Black in the American soap opera "Our Best Years".
The actor passed away after a battle against pancreatic cancer.
"After an incredible battle, he passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones", the family writes in the statement.
He made his debut in the long-running "Our Best Years" in 1986 and appeared in over 4,200 episodes, according to IMDb.
He was 70 years old.
