Drag show artist Inga Tvivel, alias Jan Ericson from the theater group Among Dragons and Drag Queens, performed today the specially written "The Tale of Hatred & Threats" in the Swedish Parliament's first chamber hall.

The cross-party seminar, where all Swedish Parliament parties were represented, was held due to the hostile reactions that drag artists have faced during storytelling sessions for children at libraries around the country.

The initiators of the seminar were Among Dragons and Drag Queens together with Jan Jönsson (The Liberals), opposition councilor in Stockholm, the Swedish Parliament's LGBTQI network, and the human rights organization Civil Rights Defenders.

Prior to the arrangement, Jönsson was clear that it was about making a stand against The Sweden Democrats.

We have unfortunately seen over the past two years that attempts have been made to prevent these storytelling sessions. As a consequence, it has also become more accepted among some people to express hatred and threats towards drag artists, he said to TT last week.
