The man was lying and sleeping when he suddenly got shot early on Monday. This happened after the dog Oreo jumped up into the owner's bed and somehow managed to fire a loaded firearm.
The one-year-old pitbull "got stuck with its paw in the trigger guard and managed to reach the trigger", according to the police report.
The man escaped with a minor injury to his left thigh.
