A 17-year-old Swedish boy suspected of terrorist crimes directed at the embassy has voluntarily agreed to an extension of his detention for two weeks. The detention period is also extended for a 20-year-old Swedish man, following a remand hearing.
The hearing was held behind closed doors, which is motivated, among other things, by the fact that more people, who are still at large, are suspected of being involved.
They should not be able to get oriented about the evidence through this hearing, says prosecutor Søren Harbo.
In addition to the two Swedes, a 50-year-old man has also been detained earlier. He is suspected of having provided the Swedes with money that was used, among other things, to buy an electric scooter used as a means of transportation to the crime scene, according to the Danish police.
The young Swedes are suspected of having attempted to hit the Israeli embassy with explosions from hand grenades, but missed. Another building nearby was hit, resulting in extensive material damage. However, no one was injured.
The purpose has been to harm or kill people at Israel's embassy, the prosecutor has previously stated. He believes that the purpose was also to intimidate citizens in Denmark and Israel.
