The Dalarna Region has made a Lex Maria report since a man died after delayed treatment.

The man, who was paralyzed in his legs after an accident, was hospitalized for an infected pressure ulcer and a stoma operation, writes Dalademokraten.

After the operation, the man became nauseous and got stomach pains and vomiting, and an X-ray showed that he had suffered from intestinal obstruction with dilated intestines and fluid in the stomach.

After several hours, it was decided that a ventricular probe would be inserted to relieve the stomach, but before it was done, the man died. According to the report, the man's death could have been avoided if the ventricular probe had been inserted earlier.
