The crisis team HV71 is acting after the weak start to the SHL season.
The second-to-last team is strengthening with the Canadian forward Jonathan Ang, 26 years old.
Ang has spent the last four seasons in Switzerland, where he has scored 79 points (31+48) in 111 matches.
He comes most recently from Ambri-Piotta, where he has been credited with one assist in seven matches this fall.
The contract is valid for the rest of the season, writes HV71 in a press release.
HV71 had to qualify to stay in the SHL last season and is currently in a qualifying spot after 13 played matches with only three wins.
The team has a five-point lead up to a secure spot, but has played one match less than 12th-placed Linköping.
