Soon five years after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Sweden's part of the EU's large recovery support is soon on its way.
The EU countries' finance ministers are expected to say yes to the revised plan that Sweden has submitted to receive approximately 3.5 billion euros – 40 billion Swedish kronor – from the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) next Tuesday.
The plan was submitted in September and received a thumbs-up from the EU Commission in mid-November. A first partial payment is expected to take place sometime after the turn of the year.
If it goes as we hope, we will be able to submit a first payment application before the New Year, said Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson (M) earlier this autumn.
