The Prosecutor General appeals a verdict on gross child pornography to the Supreme Court.
The man was sentenced to one year and nine months in prison after having hundreds of images and videos with assault material, which he also spread further. According to the prosecutor, a large part of the material is particularly inconsiderate.
The Prosecutor General wants the man to be sentenced to at least three years in prison.
"There is a need for guidance from the Supreme Court on what premises should apply for sentencing in gross child pornography cases, including the significance of the child pornography material's nature, quantity, and format, as well as the perpetrator's handling," says Prosecutor General Katarina Johansson Welin in a press release.
