Car Sales Boost American Retail Trade

Sales in American retail trade increased by 0.4 percent in October compared to the previous month, according to figures from the Department of Commerce. It was more than economists' average forecast of 0.3 percent.

In September, the increase was 0.8 percent, according to revised figures.

Adjusted for cars and fuel, the increase was smaller, plus 0.1 percent, compared to expected 0.3 percent.
