Thrown fishballs and tennis balls onto the pitch stopped the football match between Rosenborg and Lillestrøm in the Norwegian top league on Sunday. This was a protest against the video referee system VAR.
Now, Rosenborg's chairman Cecilie Gotaas Johnsen wants the supporters to be punished for the incident at the Lerkendal arena.
Now it's enough. We can't have it like this. As a club, we don't accept it, she says to Adresseavisen.
Supporters in Norway have been protesting against VAR for a longer time and several clubs have made decisions at their annual meetings to work towards abolishing the system.
It's okay that they feel frustrated about the VAR issue, but it doesn't belong on Lerkendal to sabotage a match. In the VAR debate, everyone must follow the democratic rules, says Gotaas Johnsen.
The match between Rosenborg and Lillestrøm is to be completed at a later time.
