It's sloppy and it's nonchalant. This is something Ebba Busch must take responsibility for and therefore it's the Committee on the Constitution's task to examine it, says Social Democratic MP Annika Strandhäll to TV4.
It was the other day that Energy and Business Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ebba Busch wrote "Now you can testify anonymously if you're a victim of crime" in a post on Instagram. An incorrect statement, and the post was deleted after more than 15 hours.
"Human error has occurred", wrote Ebba Busch on Instagram.
The disputed law does not give victims the right to anonymity. Victims, i.e. those exposed to crime, are not mentioned in the law text.
As of January 1, anonymous testimony is allowed in cases of suspected crimes that can lead to at least two years' imprisonment. It can occur both during police investigations and in courts, if there is a significant risk that the witness or the witness's relatives may be exposed to serious crime.
