The building cost index for multi-dwelling buildings fell by 0.1 percent in August compared to the previous month, according to the Statistics Sweden (SCB). Compared to August 2023, the index rose by 1.2 percent – the lowest price increase rate in a year since October 2020.
It is primarily the so-called client costs that are pulling down, according to SCB. They fell by 1.7 percent in August compared to July. Meanwhile, the contractors' costs are rising, up 0.4 percent compared to July.
The costs for diesel oil fell by 3.2 percent compared to the previous month and were 26.9 percent below the price level in August 2023. Transport and electricity costs also fell.
