It is going upwards on the stock exchanges in Asia on Friday, in anticipation of the US central bank chief Jerome Powell holding a speech later in the day – something that could provide clues about future interest rates.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 index had moved sideways at lunchtime, while the broader Topix index had risen by 0.4 percent.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng index is also going upwards, and had after some hours of trading risen by 0.4 percent.
Shenzhen's composite index ticked upwards by 1.2 percent, while the total in Shanghai climbed 0.5.
