At least a dozen people have been killed and several others injured in an Israeli air raid in southern Lebanon on Friday night.
According to Lebanese health authorities, cited by international media, a residential building was hit, and among the dead are women and children.
However, the AP news agency's photographer on the scene describes it as an industrial area, and the Israeli military claims that the attack targeted a weapons depot belonging to the Islamist militia Hezbollah. The location is said to be about a mile from the border.
Tensions in the region have increased significantly since the attack on the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights on July 27, in which twelve children and young people were killed.
Just days later, a Hezbollah leader, identified by Israel as responsible for the act, was killed in Beirut.
