According to the latest compilation from Pakistani authorities, 302 people have died in rain-related deaths since June 26. Over 727 people, including 242 children, have been injured in connection with the heavy rainfall.

Now, the country's meteorological authority warns that the still "weak" rains falling over the country can intensify during the week.

The authority warns of flooding of rivers, as well as landslides that can lead to closed roads in areas considered particularly vulnerable due to their hilly landscape.

The country's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urges both residents and tourists not to travel unnecessarily and to stay updated on weather warnings.

Pakistan is considered one of the world's most vulnerable countries in terms of climate change and has witnessed increasingly irregular weather events in recent years.

In 2022, a third of the country was hit by devastating floods that killed more than 1,700 people.
