The head of the family's son and a former security guard of the Schumacher family are sentenced to conditional penalties – six months and two years, respectively.

According to the prosecutor, the men had access to around 900 private images and nearly 600 films of the family, as well as digital copies of Michael Schumacher's hospital records.

The 55-year-old Schumacher has not been seen in public since he was involved in a serious skiing accident in the French Alps in 2013, in which he suffered severe brain damage.

The family's lawyer says that the verdict against the security guard, who denies any wrongdoing, will be appealed, as they wanted him to be sentenced to four years in prison.

The security guard claims that he did not steal any material from the family.

Michael Schumacher ended his Formula 1 career in 2012 after winning a total of seven World Championship titles.
