The cryptocurrency bitcoin is regaining a large part of the declines earlier in July after the assassination attempt on presidential candidate Donald Trump in the USA over the weekend.

In early Monday trading, one bitcoin costs around 62,900 dollars, which is an increase from 56,200 just a week ago and the highest bitcoin exchange rate since July 2.

The shooting at Trump at a campaign meeting in Pennsylvania is believed by many analysts to increase the likelihood of Trump winning the presidential election in November, where he is challenging the incumbent president Joe Biden.

Trump is seen as a more crypto-friendly president than Biden and has, among other things, had several crypto profiles visiting the Mar-a-lago complex in Palm Beach, Florida, reports Financial Times. The Trump campaign also accepts cryptocurrencies as campaign contributions.
