The US President Joe Biden promises more support to Ukraine's air defense after Monday's deadly Russian robot attacks on Kiev and other Ukrainian cities.
"Russia's robot attacks, which today killed dozens of Ukrainian civilians and caused damage and fatalities at Kiev's largest children's hospital, are a horrific reminder of Russia's brutality", says Biden in a statement.
He says that the US and allies will announce new support for Ukraine during the NATO summit in Washington, which begins on Tuesday.
"Together with our allies, we will announce new measures to strengthen Ukraine's air defense, to protect their cities and civilians from Russian attacks", says Biden in the statement.
He emphasizes that it is crucial that the world continues to support Ukraine and does not forget Russia's war of aggression.
At least 37 people are reported to have been killed and over 170 injured in extensive Russian attacks on cities across Ukraine on Monday, according to Ukrainian authorities.
In total, over 40 rockets of various types are said to have been fired in the attacks, which took place during the daytime. In Kiev, where at least 22 people were killed during the attack, the children's hospital Ochmatdyt was among those hit. At least two dead and over 50 injured have been reported from the hospital.
