The American president writes on Truth Social that Israel has agreed to the "necessary conditions" for implementing a 60-day ceasefire, after talks with representatives of the American government on Tuesday.
Trump is now urging Israel's counterpart, the terrorist-stamped Hamas, to say yes to an agreement based on the proposal.
Hamas says on Wednesday that they are ready for a ceasefire with Israel, but without accepting Donald Trump's proposal and at the same time emphasizes a permanent end to the war in Gaza.
"I hope, for the best of the Middle East, that Hamas accepts this agreement, because it will not get any better - it will only get worse", writes Donald Trump on social media.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit the White House on Monday. On Tuesday, Ron Dermer, top adviser to the Prime Minister, visited Washington for talks about a possible ceasefire.
The proposal will, according to Trump, be finally presented by the mediating countries Egypt and Qatar.
