Better pace in the eurozone's economy

The economy in the euro area picked up unexpectedly during the third quarter.

The euro zone's total gross national product (GNP) rose by 0.4 percent during July, August, and September, compared to the second quarter, according to new statistics from Eurostat.

The analysts had expected an increase of 0.2 percent, according to Bloomberg's compilation of forecasts.

During the second quarter, the economy grew by 0.2 percent, compared to the previous quarter.
