Six of eight Belgian paratroopers who were prosecuted for assault in the spring after a large brawl in Norway have been sentenced to prison.
The soldiers' sentences range from 21 to 60 days behind bars. Two were acquitted, according to the public service company NRK.
The soldiers were on winter training in Åndalsnes outside Ålesund when they got into a fight with others outside a pub on a late Saturday evening in mid-February.
One person was taken to hospital after the brawl and five others were injured.
The Belgian soldiers have been forced to stay in Norway until the trial.
