The American opera singer has performed at all major opera houses in the world. The 76-year-old artist is a Swedish citizen since several years back and now lives in Roslagen.
The theme for the 2025 festival is "The Road to Freedom", as a tribute "to all who have fought and are fighting for rights". The composer Andrea Tarrodi, who is one of the initiators of the music festival, says in a press release that this summer they will explore the concept of freedom based on Hendricks' concert "Road to Freedom".
The Öregrund classical music festival was started in 2023 on the initiative of Tarrodi, trombonist Christian Lindberg, and journalist Sharon Jåma. This summer, the festival will be held on July 11-13.
Other artists visiting the festival are the duo Alice Power and Noah Hofvander, Cyprus Pest, and Christian Lindberg himself.
