Bangladesh is currently experiencing a "student-led revolution", said the country's new Prime Minister Muhammad Yunus to journalists on Monday night.
He praised the student leaders for the protests that led to the fall of the previous government.
I respect you, I admire you. What you have done is absolutely remarkable, said Yunus.
He also assured that everything would be legally correct regarding Sheikh Hasina's and her government's resignation.
The police patrolled the streets of Bangladesh again on Monday, after a week-long strike. They returned to work since the new interim government guaranteed their security.
Hundreds of people died in the protests that initially targeted the country's quota system for government services, but also came to target general corruption and lack of democracy.
