Previously, another criminal group, Loyal to Familia, was banned after a long legal process that was decided in 2021 in Denmark's highest court.
According to the police, Bandidos in Denmark has been involved in at least ten violent conflicts with other criminal groups between 2013 and 2023. But Bandidos and Loyal to Familia (LTF) differ in several ways.
In the case of LTF, it was about a group that had only existed in Denmark for three to four years when the ban process began, says Halit Sert at the Danish National Police, NSK.
Bandidos, on the other hand, has existed in Denmark for over 30 years. In that way, Bandidos stands out, having had a long life in Denmark and being involved with motorcycles.
The evidence consists mainly of witnesses, presentation of previous convictions against Bandidos members, and documents from previous criminal cases, according to Halit Sert.
Lawyer Michael Juul Eriksen, who represents Bandidos, will emphasize that the motorcycle gang has a legal purpose.
Therefore, we will focus on the legal activities that take place within Bandidos, such as social events and motorcycle meetings, he says to the news agency Ritzau.
The Danish police already introduced a temporary ban on Bandidos last May, and it is this decision that is now being tried in court. The trial has been ongoing for over 30 days, and the court's verdict is expected in August at the earliest.
