The German author Jürgen Becker is dead, according to German media.
Becker made his debut in the 1960s when he used a new form of language consisting of disconnected words, expressions, sound fragments, and even blank text pages. His first novel "From the History of Separations" was published in 1999 and drew on his own traumatic experiences during the war years.
In 2014, Becker was awarded the Büchner Prize for literature. He was 92 years old.
